Grad Information

Grad Convocation - Rehearsal Thursday, May 22
Grads are required to attend the ceremony rehearsal right after school on Thursday. This is a student only event and not open to the public. Students will walk through the expectations, run through the entry procession and find out where they'll be seated during the ceremony. This is also where students will select their 4 reserved seats for spectators. We have plenty of other seating as there is no limit to how many spectators can attend; however, the students are given some to reserve close to where they choose.

Grad Ceremony/Convocation
Our students will walk the stage on Friday, May 23rd. The ceremony will begin at 3:00 pm, however we ask that students arrive by 1:45. Students will be directed to receive their rentals and start getting ready with their classmates. The gym will open to families and spectators by 2:45pm. Although it's approximate, we expect the ceremony to be between 1.5 and 2 hours. Once the ceremony is finished, families are welcome to take pictures of their students in their cap and gown around the school grounds. Gowns and stoles MUST be returned prior to your grad leaving. Caps and tassels are for your student to keep. All students will write their name in their cap prior to the ceremony so they can find it again after the stage toss at the end of event.

Grad Fees
Each student is charged $100 Grad Fees that cover; Grad Gown and Stole rental, Cap and Tassel to keep, Diploma Certificate and Cover, Rose, Lifetouch Photographer, Group/Class Photo and Convocation handshake photo, Convocation decorations, Grad Photo Lawn Signs, Grad Mural Supplies and Collage Paper. Fees are now on SchoolCash and must be paid prior to March 15 please.

Grad Collages
In early April our grade 12's will all be given a large piece of black poster paper. This is for them to make a photo collage of themselves that will be hung in Trojan Hall for their grad ceremony. Typically, these posters are then brought over to the banquet the next day and displayed there as well. Students are asked to bring their collage home with them after they leave the grad banquet. This is not a mandatory activity - but it's an annual favourite of the students and their families to see their wonderful memories.

Grad Mural
Since 1998 a group of WGM grads paint a mural to represent their class and be permanently displayed in our halls. This is a student led activity and while supplies are provided by the school, it is up to the grad class to discuss ideas and select the group who would like to work on it. If your student is interested in participating with the grad mural.
